There is something special about summer that stirs my creative spirit-like long days, warm light, and the feeling that maybe we're at a grown-up version of summer camp. That's the heart behind this season's Chic Camp Crafts series: stylish, simple projects that bring beauty and play back into our hands.
Today's project? A DIY beaded bag charm that's equal parts fun and functional. It's the perfect way to personalize your summer tote, woven market bag, or even your keychain with a touch of whimsy.
What You'll Need:

- assorted beads (glass, ceramic, pearl, wood, etc.)
- jewelry wire or strong beading thread
- lobster key ring
- optional: tassels, alphabet beads, or charms
- jewelry pliers or scissors
How to Make It:
-
-
Choose your color palette. - Go for playful summer brights, earthy neutrals or soft pastels. Don't overthink it - just pick whatever makes you smile.
- Lay out your beads - Create a quick mock up of your charm on a bead board or linen napkin to see how the pattern will look.
- Thread your beads - Cut your wire or beading thread to the desired length (around 6-8 inches) begin threading, mixing textures, shapes and colors as you go.
-
Add the finishing touch- Attach a tassel, initial bead, or small charm at the end for extra personality.
- Secure and clip - Tie or crimp the ends securely and attach the lobster clasp or key ring.

Bloom Haus Style Tip:

Pair your beaded charm with a straw hat, linen dress, with your summer tote. It's those little touches that make the season feel intentional - and a little magical.
